Adele
Recently, 32-year-old Adele lost more than 45 kilograms. Everyone was interested in the question of how the singer managed to transform so much in just a couple of months. It turned out that the star, who is ashamed of her new appearance, was following a sirtfood diet. Its principles were formulated quite recently, but it has already become popular among the British. This diet involves eating foods that activate the so-called “lean genes” or sirtuins. Let’s take a closer look at the nutrition plan developed by nutritionists Aidan Goggins and Glen Matten.
The sirtfood diet, unlike many other nutritional programs, does not exclude alcohol and sweets. You can and even should use red wine and chocolate. The entire diet is divided into several steps that must be followed in order to see results.
The initial phase lasts only a week and includes limiting calorie intake to about 1,000 kcal for three days. The daily diet consists of three glasses of green juice and one full meal. The juice includes kale, celery, parsley, green tea and lemon, all of which can help speed up your metabolism.
From the fourth to the seventh day, the calorie intake increases to 1,500 kcal per day. You can drink two servings of green juices and eat fully twice a day.
The second phase (maintenance) lasts 14 days. This is when sustained weight loss occurs. The authors believe that it is thanks to her that you can get a stable result, which means that the lost kilograms will not return.
The most popular foods you can eat on a sirtfood diet are:
• green tea;
• dark chocolate;
• apples;
• citrus fruits;
• parsley;
• turmeric;
• cabbage;
• blueberry;
• capers;
• Red wine.
According to the creators of the diet, these special foods work by activating certain proteins in the body known as sirtuins. It is believed that sirtuins affect the body’s ability to burn fat, resulting in a weight loss of three kilograms per week (which is important – the muscles are not “deflated”). To do this, you need to include a lot of protein-rich foods in your diet. The authors recommend eating fatty fish and dairy products (in moderation). They advise focusing on foods rich in polyphenols. Goggins and Matten called them “sirtfoods” by analogy with all the famous “superfoods”.
So, the main sirtfoods are buckwheat, capers, celery, chili, dark chocolate (with at least 85% cocoa beans), coffee, olive oil, green tea, kale, garlic, dates, arugula, parsley, chicory, red onions, red wine, soybeans, dark berries (cherries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries), turmeric and walnuts.
Chocolate must be dark, as it contains fewer calories, and red wine can only be drunk a couple of times a week. But these delicacies are not completely banned! By the way, coffee is also allowed.
What makes this diet so easy is that you can repeat the two phases as many times as you like. The diet cannot be called unbalanced, since it does not imply a strict restriction of certain food groups or calories for a long period of time.
Here’s a simple green juice recipe from the makers of the diet that’s easy to make in a blender with healthy fruits and vegetables. Ingredients: 75 g cabbage, 30 g arugula, 5 g parsley, 150 g celery, half a green apple, lemon juice, half a teaspoon of matcha tea powder.
Matcha green tea is a superfood that helps the body burn more calories throughout the day. It is the purest form of green tea, obtained by grinding tea leaves into powder. It contains much less caffeine than a cup of coffee, but at the same time gives the body a boost of energy.
As for Adele, she also worked with a personal trainer. Exercise is an essential part of any weight loss journey, and experts recommend that you devote about an hour a day to sports. It was also revealed that the singer regularly practices Pilates. The pop star loves the Pilates Reform Trainer, which helps improve posture, develop flexibility and balance, and is also a great weight loss aid. The performer of the hit Hello isn’t the only celebrity who enjoys this type of exercise, Jennifer Aniston, Kate Winslet and Madonna adore it.
