In recent years, the holiday season has been dominated by metallic shades such as gold, silver, bronze or copper. But it seems that it’s time for them to give way to a new trend – green metallic is in favor! We asked makeup artists how to create New Year’s makeup using such shadows, and also collected the most beautiful images from Instagram for inspiration.
Graphics and bright accents in eye makeup are still in trend, and one of the most fashionable colors of the coming year can rightfully be called green – designers used it both in clothes and when creating styling (as at the Dries Van Noten show), and, of course, in the make-up. We will tell you what shades of green are currently at the peak of popularity and how to create stylish makeup yourself.
Graphic green arrows are the easiest way to adapt the beauty trend to life. Especially relevant are the “air” arrows, inspired by the series “Euphoria”. For such makeup, you can use a creamy pigment in a light green shade and a flat brush for drawing graphic lines,
– says Krygina Studio makeup artist Polina Vazhenina.
Another simple and effective option is to apply green pigment to the entire movable eyelid, blending slightly to the temples (almost all metallic eye shadows are best applied with your finger, and only then blend with a fluffy brush). To give the look more depth, makeup artists recommend taking a juicy emerald hue.
It is better to choose denser and more saturated textures that will lie on the skin “without gaps”. And for a more dressy look, add some shiny pigment, such as silver or champagne, to the center of the eyelid.

Another festive option for green eye makeup is with glitter or rhinestones. To make the glitter fit tightly and not crumble, it is better to apply it with pressing movements over a special base or primer. Large rhinestones can be attached to your face with clear or white false eyelash glue.
This year, deep shades of green are relevant, which will advantageously emphasize any eye color. Green tones will look great on brown eyes, and lighter jade shades will do for dark greens. For owners of light green, blue and gray eyes, you can choose shadows one shade darker than the natural color of the iris, for example, khaki, pearl blue-green, jade or emerald.
Keep in mind that green makeup requires a perfectly even skin tone, so it’s important to mask any redness and imperfections well. Blush in pink or peach colors will make your face look fresher and accentuate the green tones in your eyes. Remember to powder the T-zone thoroughly to keep the skin matte throughout the day. A fixing powder is perfect for this – it visually smoothes the skin and helps control the appearance of oily sheen.
